PUBLIC NOTICE: Election Inspectors Needed


Get Involved During the Exciting and Important 2018 Election Cycle!


The City of Ypsilanti is currently recruiting registered voters and youth age 16 to 18 to serve their community as Election Inspectors during the upcoming August 7th Primary and November 6th General elections this year.

Election Inspectors are vital to the voting process and ensure the right to vote: they make voting possible!

Inspectors staff polling locations on Election Day and are responsible for many important tasks, including the following:

  • Welcoming voters and facilitating voting activities
  • Verifying voter registration
  • Issuing ballots
  • Managing the Poll Book
  • Ensuring voter privacy
  • Problem solving and answering voters’ questions
  • Managing ballot tabulators
  • Maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of critical data

Election Inspectors serving the City of Ypsilanti are paid $10.50 per hour for their work on Election Day and for their training.
