Data Network and Telephone Outage in City Administrative Offices


UPDATE (July 3, 2014): The data network and telephones are now fully operational in all City departments.  Please note that any voice mail messages left on City phones during the outage were lost.  We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. *********************************************************************************

UPDATE (July 2, 2014, 1:40 pm): Police and Fire Department phone lines are now working; phone lines in all other City departments are still non-functional. The dialed number will ring but not go through to City staff. *********************************************************************************

Due to a data network outage that occurred on July 1, 2014, the City of Ypsilanti phone system is not functioning properly in all departments, except the Department of Public Services.  You will experience a busy signal if you call all other city phone numbers.   

If you require immediate assistance, feel free to visit City Hall (1 South Huron Street) for assistance.  You may also send an email.  Email responses may be delayed due to no internet connectivity in City Hall.
 
Limited Services Available in Departments- walk in services are available in all City Departments but computer-based services are not available due to the data network outage

Police Department: Non emergency phones are not functional; in case of emergency dial 911

Fire Department: Non emergency phones are not functional; in case of emergency dial 911

DPW: accepting incoming calls; phone system is functional

Clerk’s Office:  issuing ballots; notary services are still available; accepting business applications

Treasury: Accepting payments; must bring copy of bill or citation

DDA: Closed

Building Department: issuing and accepting applications

Planning: issuing and accepting applications

Accounting: not processing business licenses

Assessing:  will accept property transfer affidavits
