City Clerk and Treasurer

The mission of the City Clerk's Office is to serve as the Clerk to City Council, Chief Elections Officer of the City and custodian of the Corporate Seal; to certify official documents and provide custody of official City documents; to administer oaths and take affidavits; and to exercise other powers and duties as provided by law. We respond to public requests for records, maintaining and producing the documents that enable the public to participate in local government.

The mission of the Treasury Department is to offer excellent customer service while performing collection and deposit services for all funds due to and received by the City of Ypsilanti.  The Treasurer Division further seeks to provide all other support services required to meet the combined needs of community, business, and government.

Payments can be made in person Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by 24- hour dropbox at City Hall. (See Payment Options below)

*Please note: The Treasurer's Office no longer accepts payment for parking tickets. All tickets must be paid online, in-person or by mail through the 14A District Court. Please visit the Police Department's webpage for more information.*

Payment Options

1. Mail

Mail your payment in the envelope included with statement (please include the top portion of the bill with your check made payable to the City of Ypsilanti) to:

2. Drop Box

For your convenience, there is a drop box located at the S. Huron
Street entrance of City Hall (checks only please, no cash).

Payments will be accepted in the drop box until midnight on the due date. 

3. In Person

Pay in person at the Clerk and Treasurer’s Office on the 1st floor of City Hall.  Please bring your tax bill or ticket for paid receipt.

Payments accepted in person from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

4. Bank

Ypsilanti City residents may submit property tax payments at Bank of Ann Arbor and Citizens Bank.

We only accept payments for properties located within the City of Ypsilanti's jurisdiction. Property information kept on properties located in Ypsilanti Township or other neighboring communities cannot be accessed from this website.
