The Harriet Commerce Center offers a unique assortment of neighborhood retail, service and restaurant establishments as well as job training opportunities through Washtenaw Community College and Washtenaw County Workplace Department Center. Initiated by the Metro Commerce Corporation, an affiliation of the Metropolitan Memorial Baptist Church, and supported by state, local, and private funding, this commercial center is an excellent example of a successful neighborhood revitalization effort.
