This is your chance to make an impact on area residents by providing them with safe, positive summer opportunities for fun! The City of Ypsilanti Recreation Department is actively recruiting to fill the following part-time seasonal positions:
Head Lifeguards: Supervise & schedule rotation of Lifeguards, assist in day-to-day operations and implement pool programs. Must possess current Life Guard Training, CPR/PR Certification and Life Guard Management. Hours are from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Salary - $9.00/hr
Lifeguards: Supervise participants using the Rutherford Municipal Pool. Must possess Life Guard Training, CPR/PR Certification. Pool is open from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. Salary - $8.00/hr
Swim Instructors: Responsible for teaching swim lessons to municipal pool participants. Must have Water Safety Instructor Certification, CPR/PR and First Aid. Salary - $9.00/hr
Pool Entrance Monitor: Responsible for greeting customers, receive pool entrance fees, provide information to patrons and attend front counter. Pool is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Salary - $7.00/hr
All positions require the following:
- Must be 16 years old or older
- Organized and have good communication skills
- Experience working with diverse groups of children, youth, families or senior citizens
- Ability to work independently
- Able to pass a Criminal history background check and drug screen
