Downtown Parking Permits

Resident and Employee Annual Permits: $300 
Resident and Employee Four-month Permits: $115 
Washington Street Annual Permits: $150 
Washington Street Four-month Permits: $60 
All permits are prorated monthly; the permit year begins September 1.

You can apply for a central business district parking permit online at ypsilantipermits.rmcpay.com, via mail/dropbox, or in-person at City Hall.  The application form is available here or may be picked up at City Hall.

Application Requirements


  • Residents
    • Current driver's license or state ID
    • Proof of residency (by means of utility bills, lease or valid state driver's license) 
    • Current vehicle registration
    • Completed application form
    • Fee
    • All existing parking citations must be paid before a permit can be issued.
  • Employers/employees
    • Proof of residency/employment
    • Completed application form
    • Fee
Acceptable Forms of Payment
  • Cash (in-person only)
  • Check or money order (by mail/dropbox or in-person only)
  • Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover) 
    • A 3.15% fee applies to use a credit card with a minimum fee of $1.05.
Visitor permits are not available for the downtown area.
