Celebrating 200 Years

2023 is Ypsilanti’s Bicentennial! The bicentennial planning committee (Bicentennial City Commission) is hard at work planning a full year of Ypsilanti-inspired events and meaningful community gatherings to recognize Ypsilanti’s 200th anniversary since its incorporation on April 22, 1823. Expect family-fun entertainment, historic-driven happenings, and even a few surprises, including opening the time capsule from the Ypsilanti Sesquicentennial in 1973!

Sponsor Ypsilanti's Bicentennial!

As Ypsilanti’s Bicentennial approaches, we want celebrations to showcase the culture and community over the last 200 years. Throughout 2023 there will be musical performances, historic-driven happenings, and family-friendly entertainment that reflect on the past and celebrate where we’re going. We’ll even open the time capsule from the Ypsilanti Sesquicentennial in 1973!

The Bicentennial Commission hopes to raise $150,000 to host three events throughout 2023: a New Years Eve Ball Drop, a Fourth of July Picnic and time capsule reveal, and our main event in August to celebrate with area artists, delicious local food, a beer tent, and provide meaningful engagement.

All sponsors will be featured in the Bicentennial book, listed on the back of t-shirts, and listed in the event brochure. Below you can find an appropriate level of sponsorship for you.

Woodruff $10,000 - General sponsorship package, featured on the stage banner, and a full page ad in main event brochure.
