Ypsilanti’s Highland Cemetery added to National Register of Historic Places
The cemetery was originally designed by Colonel James Lewis Glen, and reflects the "rural" or "garden" style popular in the mid-1800s. The buildings and monuments in Highland reflect the great span of human civilization and architecture.
The Highland Cemetery Association has been working for over twenty years for the site to be added to the registry. Congratulations for their hard work and determination in this achievement. This is another step in maintaining the historical integrity of this city.
