Ypsilanti Senior Center Daycare

Free Child Care flyer

The Ypsilanti Senior Center has recently launched a pilot respite program. The Center is arranging free daycare and summer camp for children whose permanent residential custody is provided by relatives other than the children’s natural or adoptive parents. The custodial relatives, often grandparents or other older adult relatives, will as a result enjoy an opportunity for respite: hours, days, or weeks of time off from parenting, to spend as they wish. The program is funded by a grant from the Area Agency on Aging 1-B. The information obtained by the pilot program will be used to evaluate and expand the respite service. All child-care providers will be insured and state-licensed.

The service is free to the relatives caring for children.

For registration, information and questions, please call 734-483-5014 and ask for Monica Prince, the Executive Director.
