City of Ypsilanti Historic District Commission

The City of Ypsilanti Historic District Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, One South Huron Street, Ypsilanti, Michigan 48197. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive public comments on the following:
206-210 N Washington: demolition of structure
The Historic District Commission will hear a presentation, hold a public hearing, and make a determination regarding an application for demolition of the one-story and three-story buildings at 206-210 N Washington on the grounds that the structures: constitute a hazard to the safety of the public or the occupants; are a deterrent to a major improvement program that will be of substantial benefit to the community; and retaining the structures will cause undue financial hardship to the owner when a governmental action, an act of God, or other event beyond the owner’s control created the hardship. Application was made by Avalon Housing.

The City invites all interested persons to attend this meeting, and time will be allotted for comments by the public at this meeting.
