YCUA has been doing a lot of work in the downtown area replacing water mains as well as some service leads. To minimize additional disturbance in Michigan Ave, YCUA will be using the alley and utility easements that run through the southern part of the North Adams Lot and some adjoining properties. This will result in an open trench for construction during some phases.
In order to accommodate this work, we will be making some significant (yet temporary) changes to the parking regulations in this lot (see attached map).
- The southernmost portion, outlined in red in the attached map (all of the 2-hour metered and the southern half of the 4-hour metered) will be completely closed (and tow-away) during construction, as this will be an active construction zone.
- Of the “middle” 4-hour metered portion (in orange on the attached), the west half will be blocked off so that 2 of the 3 dumpsters can be located there for the duration of the construction. The east half will remain 4-hour, but free.
- The parking spaces immediately north of the new dumpster location (in yellow on the attached) will be no-parking (tow away) Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 7am to 4pm to allow for the dumpster pickup. On Tues & Thu, this will be 4-hour free.
- The northernmost parking spaces (in green), currently permit only, will remain permit only. Be aware that many residents in this block that currently have private parking disrupted by the construction will be granted temporary permits.
- The parking spaces north of the MWF-restricted spaces and south of the permit spaces (in blue) will be four-hour free.
