Cadillac Asphalt has been selected by the City as the Prime Contractor for the 2019 Major Roads Project with OHM Advisors being the Engineer. Work is scheduled to begin on or around August 26th, 2019 and should be substantially complete by mid-November 2019 with final restoration being done in the spring of 2020.
As part of the project, South Congress (Mansfield-Elm), Huron (Forest-Cross) and Harriet (Hamilton-Huron) will be milled off and a new asphalt surface will be installed as well as some new curb installation, sidewalk ramp upgrades and pavement markings.
Traffic will be maintained at all times; however, during construction slight delays, intermittent lane closures and flagging operations for equipment moving through the traveled roadway can be expected. Access to driveways will be maintained throughout construction as much as possible. If it is necessary to make modifications to your driveway, our inspection staff may ask that you park your vehicle in the road for a certain timeframe to facilitate proper curing of the new materials
At this time, we are asking that all irrigation systems be shut down and preferably winterized prior to construction. This will minimize any water that may be lost if an irrigation system is inadvertently damaged.
Other than slight delays on a periodic basis, mail delivery, rubbish pick up/recycling and school bus routes should not be impacted by the construction and will have access at all times.
We realize this will be an inconvenience and will do our best to minimize the impact of construction. We appreciate your patience during this time and thank you for your help. Feel free to contact me if you cannot reach one of the construction staff listed below or if you have any questions or concerns.
