The Ypsilanti City Council unanimously approved initiating a relief fund for the Abaco Island, Bahamas. The island was completely destroyed as a result of Hurricane Dorian, leaving their 700,000 residents with virtually nothing. City Council is asking for all to give to assist those who have been effected by the storm.
Donations may be made at the City of Ypsilanti Fire Department (525 W. Michigan Ave, Ypsilanti, MI 48197) between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, beginning September 25th, at the department’s front office. Gifts can be made by either check or cash, with checks made payable to the City of Ypsilanti, on the memo line please write “for Abaco”. The city will serve as the fiduciary for this fund.
Every cent with be given to the rebuilding and restoring life for the inhabitants of Abaco.
