In its 6th year, ypsiGLOW 2021 will feature an array of socially distanced art and lighting installations in the heart of Ypsilanti created by local artists, a virtual Facebook event, and GLOW TV showcasing video creations by Ypsilanti youth and local artists. The GLOW Stroll & Roll will invite everyone to dress up, mask up, light the luminaries, and come downtown to see amazing creations and support local businesses along the way. GLOW TV will be featured online, in the Puffer Red's storefront window, and as the warm-up act for EMU's drive-in movie at the Convocation Center. New this year are a jazz concert by John E. Lawrence with a performance by the Ypsilanti Community High School Choir, and lighting installations at the pedestrian connections to the park from Michigan Avenue and E. Cross Street, as well as along the park pathway. A laser installation around the Gazebo or on the stage backdrop will be created by Illuminatus, a longstanding creative partner of WFP from Jackson.
