Changes to the Program

Petition to Expand Permit Zone

If your neighborhood directly borders an existing permit zone, you may petition to be added to that zone.  Should this expansion be approved, the newly added neighborhood will share the same enforcement hours as the zone it joins. In order for a petition to be considered, it must contain the signatures of at least 60 percent of households, and be at least one full block. Only one adult resident signature is required per household.

Petition for a New Permit Zone

If your neighborhood does not directly border an existing permit zone, you may petition for the City Manager to designate a new permit zone for your neighborhood.  For the purposes of this petition, your neighborhood must be a residential zoned, contiguous area of at least two blocks or equivalent area or distance. Should this zone be created, enforcement of the permit zone will be consistent with the standard residential zones, unless otherwise stipulated in the petition.  In order for this petition to be considered, it must contain the signatures of at least 60 percent or more of the households. Only one adult resident signature is required per household.

Petition to Remove Permit Zone

If your neighborhood wishes to no longer fall under this program, a petition with the same requirements as creating a new zone (at least two blocks, signatures of 60% or more of the households) may be submitted to remove the zone.
