Public Hearing Notice

City of Ypsilanti City Council

Tuesday, February 21, 2017

The City of Ypsilanti City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at the 7:00 p.m. meeting in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, One South Huron Street, Ypsilanti, Michigan 48197. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive public comments on the following:

Zoning Text Amendments: Citywide 

City Council will consider a proposed ordinance to amend the text of the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 122 of the Ypsilanti Code of Ordinances and portions of the Code of Ordinances which refer to specific sections within Chapter 122. The current Zoning Ordinance became effective in January 2015 and since then the Planning Commission and city staff have tracked organizational changes and issues within the code and have drafted an amendment to address these issues.

These amendments include but are not limited to:

• Reorganization of the format of the zoning code

• Correction of reference errors, misattributed figures, conflicting info

• Sign requirements

• Landscaping requirements

• Amending the permitted and special uses in certain districts

These amendments will be made available as part of the meeting packet prior to the meeting at cityofypsilanti.com/AgendaCenter/10.
