Insurance Survey Office (ISO) Rating
To help establish appropriate fire insurance premiums for residential and commercial properties, insurance companies need reliable, up-to-date information about the rating a fire department provides to a community. The City of Ypsilanti obtained a rating of 3 as of August 1, 2020.

Learn about ISO rating online.

Fire Station Group Tours
The fire department offers fire station group tours. Please contact the on-duty officer to schedule a tour. Come and see us!

Home Fire Safety Inspection
Part of our fire prevention program includes free fire safety inspections in homes. This voluntary program is crucial in reducing fires in private residences in our community. Friendly fire department personnel will assess your home and provide tips on how to be fire safe. The home assessment may last up to about 30 minutes and there are no binding requirements.

Please call the YFD and request the on-duty shift officer to schedule a visit.
