Ad-Hoc Citizen Committee for Water Street Redevelopment Area
The Ad-Hoc Citizen Committee for Water Street Redevelopment Area will determine the community benefits that are included in the Request for Qualifications for prospective developers, along with making recommendations for qualified organizations to begin development.
The committee will evaluate the proposals based on:
- Cultural Vitality: Enhancing Ypsilanti’s cultural identity
- Social Equity: Benefiting underserved groups
- Economic Prosperity: Supporting local businesses/jobs
- Environmental sustainability: Promoting green practices

Meeting Schedule
The Ad-Hoc Citizen Committee for Water Street Redevelopment Area will be holding their first meeting on March 25th, 2026, at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at City Council Chambers, 1 S Huron Street, Ypsilanti.
The committee will meet at least six times within a 180-day period.

Membership
Per Resolution No. 2025-088, the Ad-Hoc Citizen Committee shall consist of three City Council members, six to eight appointed community members, and up to two non-residents with relevant expertise.
