Parking Tickets
If you have received a Parking Violation, you must respond in one of the following two ways to avoid potential additional penalties:
A. Admit Responsibility - If you choose this option, all violations must be paid in full. Partial payments will not be accepted. You may pay via any of the following methods:
- In person at City Hall: You can pay Treasury at our first floor office located at 1 S. Huron St., Ypsilanti, MI. We are able to accept payments from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We accept cash, check, or money order (payable to the City of Ypsilanti), credit card (Mastercard, Discover, American Express, VISA). There is a 3% processing fee (with a $2.00 minimum charge) for credit card payments.
- Online: Online payments can be made with a credit or debit card. (Mastercard, Discover, & VISA Accepted). There is a per-ticket fee of $3.95 for online payments. Click here for online payments.
- By mail: For security purposes please only send check payments through the mail, made payable to the City of Ypsilanti, to:

Be sure to write your ticket number and license plate number on the front of your payment. Payments are entered as received, postmarks are not considered when determining the application of any late fees. - By drop box: A drop box is located at City Hall's public entrance on S Huron Street. Payments can be turned in here at any time on every day of the year using cash, check, or money order.
B. Deny Responsibility, or Admit Responsibility with an explanation - If you choose this option, you must submit a completed Appeal Form within 90 days of issuance of the violation to Treasury, 1 S. Huron St., Ypsilanti, MI 48197, or by email to parkingticketappeals@cityofypsilanti.com. Appeals may also be made online. Appeals are then sent to the 14A-2 District Court for consideration.
FAILURE TO RESPOND WITH OPTION A OR B WITHIN 14 DAYS WILL RESULT IN A DEFAULT JUDGMENT AND POSSIBLE SUSPENSION OF OPERATOR/CHAUFFEUR LICENSE. ADDITIONAL PENALTIES MAY BE ADDED AT THAT TIME.
IF YOU HAVE SIX (6) OR MORE UNPAID VIOLATIONS, YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE IMPOUNDED UNDER PROVISIONS OF STATE LAW AND LOCAL ORDINANCE.
Other Jurisdiction Tickets
Please double check before attempting to make a payment that your ticket was issued by the City of Ypsilanti. In particular, verify if your ticket was issued by either of the following.
Eastern Michigan University
Eastern Michigan University has their own parking enforcement staff and payment platform. If you were visiting the EMU campus your ticket may have been issued by them. For more information on EMU tickets click here.
Ypsilanti Township
Ypsilanti Township is a separate government with their own parking enforcement. Your ticket will indicate if it was issued within the City of Ypsilanti's jurisdiction. For more information on Ypsilanti Township tickets please click here.
